You’re not alone. According to data from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Berlin, around 24,000 Indonesian citizens were registered in 2021—about 7,000 of them students. This includes undergraduate to doctoral candidates, as well as participants of Studienkolleg, a preparatory program designed to help international students qualify for German universities.

Each year, approximately 700 Indonesian students arrive in Germany to begin their undergraduate studies. The numbers continue to grow, reflecting Germany’s increasing popularity as a destination for high-quality, affordable higher education.
