Turn Your Dream of Working in Germany into Reality with the Ausbildung Program

What is Ausbildung?

If you have the ambition and determination to build a career in Germany, the Ausbildung program could be your perfect pathway.

In simple terms, Ausbildung is a unique “learn-and-earn” program that combines vocational training with hands-on work experience in Germany. The best part? There are no tuition fees, and you’ll receive a monthly salary or allowance of around €700–€1,000 from the company where you train.

This program is officially regulated by the German government, meaning your qualification is recognized nationwide (equivalent to a diploma-level certification). Even better, if you perform well during your training, there’s a strong chance you’ll be offered a full-time position with a salary of approximately €2,000–€3,000 per month after graduation.

Why is Ausbildung so popular?

Competitive salary standards
Enjoy strong earning potential in one of Europe’s leading economies.

True work-life balance
Employee rights are taken seriously. Standard working hours are limited to 8 hours per day, and working on Sundays is generally prohibited (except for certain professions). It’s also uncommon for employers to contact staff outside working hours.

Generous vacation time
Employees typically receive 25–30 days of paid leave annually—perfect for exploring Germany’s beautiful cities or traveling across Europe.

High-quality public services
Germany offers excellent public infrastructure, including free or subsidized education for children, well-equipped public libraries, safe drinking water straight from the tap, and access to parks and museums.

Strong social security system
As a working resident who pays taxes, you’ll benefit from healthcare, child allowances, and even social support in case of unemployment.

How can you apply—and what are the requirements?

To apply for an Ausbildung program, you’ll typically need:

Age: 17–30 years old

Education: At least a high school diploma (SMU/SMK). If you’re still in your second year, you can already start preparing—especially learning German.

German language certification:

Minimum B1 level (general fields)

B2 level (healthcare-related programs)

C1 level (pharmacy-related programs)
This certification proves your ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written German.

Additional requirements may vary depending on the field you choose. For example:

A nursing background will be a strong advantage if you apply for healthcare programs.

Work experience in hotels or restaurants can significantly boost your chances for hospitality-related programs.

One important thing to keep in mind

The more popular the Ausbildung field you choose, the tougher the competition will be. Choosing the right path—and preparing strategically—can make all the difference.
